Let Me Care When You Cannot be There

Dog Boarding and Day Care in Bristol

Welcome to Jackson Tiny Tails!

Hello and welcome – I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jo, and I offer a calm, loving home-from-home day care and boarding service based in Bristol. But this is more than just a business to me – it’s something deeply personal, shaped by the love I’ve shared with my dogs, Jack and Sonny, and the quiet companionship of my dad.

Personal Approach

Every dog I welcome is treated as I would treat my own. Their comfort, safety, and emotional wellbeing are always my priority — whether they’re staying just for the day or for a longer visit.

Calm home-from-Home Care

I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone new – whether it’s just for the day or for a longer stay. That’s why I offer both day care and overnight boarding, in a calm, loving environment that truly feels like home.

Small Numbers, Big Care

I’m fully licensed for five dogs, but I choose to care for no more than three or four at a time. This means I can give each dog the calm, individual attention they deserve.

Let’s Take It Slow

I work with each family to create a gradual, reassuring transition. For nervous dogs, I often start with short visits, 2 hours, then 4, and build up slowly. Many owners tell me this personal, phased approach makes a real difference.

more Than just a place to stay

Most of the dogs who stay here sleep on my bed just like they do at home.

  • This helps them feel safe and settle in quickly, especially at night
  • If your dog needs constant company, I’m happy to provide it
  • I don’t leave dogs at all if this is something an owner requests

Why Choose Jackson Tiny Tails

This isn’t just a job to me, it’s a continuation of the love I still carry for Little Jack, Sonny, and my dad.

  • A peaceful, home-from-home setting
  • Small numbers and gentle routines
  • Each dog cared for with patience, love, and personal attention

I was desperately trying to find someone to look after Dottie (poodle 12 years) while a went to a funeral in Weymouth on a very hot day. Jackson came up with a place at very short notice . So helpful. In the end I didn’t have to use them but so helpful will keep in mind for future. Thanks again.

FAQs

Yes, I’m fully licensed by the local council for up to 5 dogs, but I choose to care for no more than 3 or 4 at a time. This way, I can give each dog the calm, individual attention they deserve, without things ever feeling busy or overwhelming.

I usually care for small to medium-sized dogs, to ensure they receive plenty of attention and that they have space that feels right for their needs.

I’ve been caring for dogs for many years, and since starting Jackson Tiny Tails, I’ve created a calm, loving home where every dog is treated like family. I only welcome a small number of dogs at a time, so I can get to know each one and give them the attention, comfort, and gentle care they deserve.

Yes, please. Keeping your dog on their usual diet is important for their comfort and health. It helps avoid upset tummies during their stay. You can also bring their treats, favourite bowl, or anything else that makes them feel settled.

At the moment, I don’t offer transport, I’ve found it’s best for owners to drop off and collect their dogs themselves.

Absolutely. Whether you’re away for a weekend or a few weeks, your dog will be part of my home for the whole stay. For longer bookings, it’s especially important to do a couple of trial visits first, so they feel relaxed and happy from the start.

I often start with short trial visits, maybe 2 hours at first, then a half-day, then a full day — before any overnight stays. This helps them get used to me, my home, and the gentle routine here, so when the time comes, they settle in as though they’ve always been part of the place.
